THE GROOTSPRUIT SOLAR PV BURSARY - 2026

Closing Date : 15 DECEMBER 2025

To be considered for the Bursary Programme, applicants must:


  • Be a South African citizen.

  • Must have been born, living or attended school within 50 km of the Grootspruit Solar PV facility, = specifically from the communities within Welkom, Virginia, Odendaalsrus, Allanridge,
 Hennenman and Ventersburg

  • Must belong to a previously disadvantaged group

  • Be enrolled or provisionally accepted at a public Technical and Vocational Education and
 Training (TVET) college in South Africa.

  • Be unemployed

  • Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

  • Have a total household income of R350 000 or less per annum.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Bursary Programme, applicants must:


  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Must have been born, living or attended school within 50 km of the Konkoonsies II Solar PV
 Farm, specifically from the communities of Pella, Onseepkans, Witbank, Pofadder, or Aggeneys.
  • Must belong to a previously disadvantaged group.
  • Be enrolled or provisionally accepted at a public Higher Education Institution in South Africa.
  • Be unemployed.
  • Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
  • Have a total household income of R350 000 or less per annum.

Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must submit clear and certified copies (not older than six months) of the following:

  • Certified South African Identity Document.
  • Mid-year (June) or Final results (Matric and/or Tertiary).
  • Proof of provisional acceptance at a public tertiary institution.
  • Proof of residence.
  • Parent/Guardian Consent form (applicants under 18 years)
  • Proof of total monthly household income


o Latest payslip

o Affidavit if unemployed


o 3 month’s bank statement if self-employed 


o Parent(s’) death certificate if parent/s deceased 
 

o Proof of disability (if Applicable to applicant)
